Ingredients

For meatballs
- 500 g of ground meat
- 1 egg
- 100 ml of milk
- 60 g of bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon (tsp) of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (tsp) of white pepper
- A pinch of cinnamon
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 100 ml of vegetable oil (for frying meatballs)

For the sauce
- 2 teaspoons (tsp) of vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons (tsp) of flour
- 2 tablespoons (Tbsp) of paprika powder
- 240 ml of meat broth
- 1 tablespoon (Tbsp) of sour cream
- 2 tablespoons (Tbsp) of parsley, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper

Making Meatballs:

1. In a large bowl, add the ground meat, egg, milk, bread crumbs, salt, white pepper, cinnamon, and the chopped onion. Mix it all together with a spoon until everything is fully combined.

2. Take a spoonful of the meat mixture and shape it into a small ball. Place it onto a tray. Repeat this until all the meat has been made into balls.

Frying Meatballs:

3. Place a frying pan on medium to high heat and let it get hot. Add half of the vegetable oil (from the meatball ingredients) and let it heat through.

4. When the oil is hot, add some of the meatballs and fry them for a few minutes. Use tongs to turn them over to fry on the other side.

5. When they are a crispy brown color, remove them from the pan and transfer them onto a tray. Repeat this process with the remaining meatballs.

Making the Sauce:

6. Place the frying pan (the one you used for meatballs) on medium to high heat. Add the 2 tsp of vegetable oil (from the sauce ingredients), then add the flour and paprika powder. Whisk this into the oil until smooth.

7. Gradually whisk in the meat broth. Let it come to a boil, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened.

8. Add salt, pepper, and sour cream. Whisk them in well. Let it boil for a few more minutes, still whisking, to help the sauce thicken more.

Combining Meatballs & Serving:

9. Carefully put the cooked meatballs into the sauce in the pan. Add the finely chopped parsley. Mix the meatballs well into the sauce to make sure they are fully coated.

10. Garnish the dish with a little more parsley. Your delicious Swedish Meatballs are ready to serve!

Transforming simple ingredients into Swedish Meatballs is a delightful kitchen achievement. Taste the blend of spices and tender meat, all brought together in a creamy sauce. Go ahead and make this tasty dish your next family favorite!
