Let's find out what yummy things we need to make our Paella!

Ingredients:
- 40 ml of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped into little pieces
- 1 red pepper, chopped into little pieces
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped into little pieces
- 1 tomato, chopped into little pieces
- 50 g of Spanish chorizo sausage, cut into small cubes
- 2 boneless chicken thighs cut into small cubes
- 300 g of short-grained rice (this is the special rice for Paella!)
- 800 ml of hot chicken stock (this is like chicken soup liquid)
- 1 teaspoon of saffron threads (these are tiny red or yellow pieces that make the rice yellow)
- 100 g of peas (these are the little green balls)
- 8 large prawns, already peeled
- 2 squid, cut into rings
- 200 g of clams (these are the shells with yummy seafood inside)
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of paprika powder (this is a red spice)
- Salt and pepper (to make it taste good)
- Lemon wedges (pieces of lemon for decorating)
- Parsley chopped (a green leafy herb for topping)

Method of Preparation:

Okay, chef! Let's start cooking our Paella step-by-step!

1. Put the special paella pan on the stove over medium-high heat to warm it up. Once it's warm, add some olive oil. Then add the chicken pieces, sprinkle them with salt and pepper, and add the chorizo sausage. Stir everything around and let it cook for just one minute.

2. Add the chopped onions, red pepper, garlic, tomato, and the short-grained rice to the pan. Stir all these yummy ingredients together very well.

3. Add the saffron threads and the paprika powder. Now, carefully pour the hot chicken stock into the pan, making sure there is enough liquid to cover everything. Mix it all together and turn up the heat slightly until it starts to bubble and simmer.

4. Lower the heat a little so it cooks gently. Let it cook for 7 to 10 minutes until most of the liquid has been soaked up by the rice, but not all of it.

5. Add the clams next, gently pushing them under the surface of the rice. Then, lay the peeled prawns nicely around the pan, add the squid rings, and sprinkle the peas all over the top. Sprinkle a little more salt and pepper over everything.

6. Cover the paella pan tightly with foil. Let it cook covered for another 3 to 5 minutes.

7. Turn off the heat on the stove, but leave the pan covered with the foil for another 5 minutes. This helps everything finish cooking perfectly!

8. Carefully take off the foil. Sprinkle the chopped parsley all over the top and place some lemon wedges around the edge to make it look pretty! Your Paella is now all ready to enjoy!

Learning to make meals from different places can be so much fun! When you follow the steps carefully, you can create a delicious dish that looks and smells amazing, just like a real chef. Give it a try and see what kind of tasty Paella you can cook up!
