Let's look at all the tasty ingredients you'll need for these classic cookies and their filling!

Ingredients:
- 155 g of all-purpose flour
- 4g of baking soda
- 2g of baking powder
- 5g of salt
- 190 g of butter, softened
- 215 g of peanut butter
- 165 g of white sugar
- 185 g of packed light brown sugar
- 1 and 3/4 of an egg
- 8 ml of vanilla extract
- 135 g of quick cooking oats
- 70 g of butter, softened (for the filling)
- 200 g of confectioners' sugar (this is powdered sugar)
- 215 g of smooth peanut butter (for the filling)
- 60 ml of heavy whipping cream (for the filling)

Method of Preparation:
We'll make the dough first, then bake them, make a filling, and turn them into yummy cookie sandwiches!

Making the Cookie Dough:

1. Get a large bowl. Put 1/2 cup of softened butter or margarine, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, the white sugar, the brown sugar, and the vanilla into the bowl. Mix (cream) them all together until they are smooth.

2. Add the egg to the bowl and beat it well into the mixture.

3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. These are the dry ingredients.

4. Add these dry ingredients to the first bowl with the creamed mixture. Stir it all together.

5. Add the oatmeal to the dough and stir until it's mixed in.

Forming and Baking the Cookies:

6. Get a baking sheet and make sure it's greased (so the cookies don't stick).

7. Use a teaspoon to drop little mounds of cookie dough onto the greased baking sheet, leaving space between them.

8. Use a fork to press each mound of dough down. Press it until each cookie is about 1/4 inch thick. This also makes the criss-cross pattern on top!

9. Bake the cookies in the oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Watch them until they look light brown.

10. Carefully take the baked cookies out of the oven and let them cool down completely.

Making the Filling:

11. To make the filling, get a bowl. Put 3 tablespoons of softened butter or margarine, the confectioners' sugar, 1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter, and the heavy whipping cream into the bowl.

12. Mix (cream) these ingredients together until the filling is smooth and creamy.

Assembling the Cookie Sandwiches:

13. Once the cookies are cooled, spread some of the yummy filling onto the flat side of half of the cookies.

14. Take the other half of the cooled cookies and place one on top of each cookie with filling, flat side down, to make cookie sandwiches!

Making classic cookies like these is a fun way to create a treat that's loved by many! Following the steps lets you mix, bake, and even make a special filling to create yummy cookie sandwiches that are perfect for sharing! Get ready to enjoy your crunchy, peanut buttery treats!
